- Chevrolet designed the Camaro to counteract the massive success that the Ford Mustang had experienced since its introduction. The Camaro was much more than a simple market-share grabber, however. This model is a Chip Foose modified version of the highly popular Z-28, a V-8 powered sportster that won the Trans-Am competition.
